Our son really enjoys GRCMC! He has participated for multiple summers and looks forward to it as a time with music and friends. During his years there, he has played with other talented young musicians in string quartets, duos, and other ensembles under the direction of talented and creative teachers. He always comes away from camp with a positive experience and a deeper appreciation of chamber music. Definitely a camp we plan to keep our family involved in!

A hidden Grand Rapids gem. As a parent, I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but for the last 2 years in which my 3 boys have participated, I have found so worthwhile the varied, creative, and challenging ways that the program has brought both string/piano students of all levels together with experienced, professional musicians. The overall merit of the program was evident to me through the way my kids experienced musical collaboration and teamwork; purposeful listening; learning (even if it wasn't a subject they liked); being challenged to rise above their own comfort zones (and having fun through it); and working with adults who genuinely love music and team up well with youth. Personally, I was especially impressed with the end-of-week recital to witness for myself how much the kids accomplished musically in each of their chamber groups.

A wonderful program designed for all levels of young players! Alicia Gregorian Sawyers has put together a variety of professional musician mentors and coaches that makes for such a unique experience for each child. Sawyers did an excellent job coordinating the classes in relevant musical topics that were taught by experienced string players and performers. I hope this program continues to grow and develop to further enrich the musical arts of our community! This program is a jewel in the crown of Grand Rapids! I highly recommend!
